Chicken with honey and thyme

Easy everyday meal. Chicken in combination with honey and thyme will make you to love chicken even more.

Ingredients (for two person):

  • chicken meat (white meat or meat from the legs) around 400g 
  • 1/2 spoon of honey
  • 1 teaspoon of dry thyme
  • 1/2 spoon of olive oil
  • salt
  • rice (for a side dish)
  • vegetables such as carrots, baby corn, onion, green peas or sugar peas etc. and one small apple.
Preparation:
  1. Cut chicken meat into small peaces. Place it in a frying pan. If you have a quality frying pan with no-sticky surface, then you can avoid adding extra oils, because chicken will release it's own juices, otherwise add little bit olive oil.
  2. Stir it and add honey on the top of the meat, stir it all together to be sure that honey will cover every single peace of meat. Season it with salt (this can be a tricky part, because you will never know how much salt to add to fix the taste, so I suggest add a little bit at the beginning, and try after meat is fried). After you mix meat and honey, add thyme, and stir it again.
  3. Meat will be fried very fast, after 5-10 minutes. But, since you have honey in it, that will give very nice brown color to the meat, be careful not to burn it, so stay close to the frying pan and stir it occasionally.
  4. When meat is soft, that means it's fried, now you can try one peace and see if more salt is needed. It should taste sweet, but not like you are having only honey in your mouth :), so try to make a balance between sweet and salty.
  5. For a side dishes, cook rice, just in water.
  6. Vegetables, like carrots, onion, cut in small peaces, same with apple, fry it with green peas or sugar peas and baby corn. If you cut carrots and onion very tiny, it will fry faster.
  7. Serve rice, vegetables and chicken on your plate and enjoy in sweet and salty taste :).
  8. This kind of chicken you can eat with cooked pasta as well, but we love it on a Chinese way :), with rice and veggies. :)

Piletina sa medom i timijanom

Jako jednostavan nacin pripreme, a ukus kao i najlepsem restoranu :)

Sastojci: ( za dve osobe)
  • pilece meso (belo i meso za bataka) oko 400 grama 
  • 1/2 kasike meda
  • 1 kasicica suvog timijana (ako koristite svez, onda 3-4 grancice) (majcina dusica)
  • 1/2 kasike maslinovog ulja
  • so
  • pirinac i povrce (sargarepa, kukuruz, boranija ili grasak, crni luk i jedna mala jabuka) kao prilog
Postupak:
  1. Iseckati piletinu na kockice i staviti u tiganj da se przi. Ukoliko ne koristite kvalitetan tiganj ili serpu u koju nije potrebno dodavati ulje, dodajte pola kasike maslinovog i investirajte u bolji tiganj :). 
  2. Promesati da se piletina pocne prziti i dodati pola kasike meda, sve lepo promesati da med prekrije svaki komadic mesa, on ce mu dati lepu braonkastu boju i jos lepsi ukus. Dodajte malo soli, nakon przenja mozete dodati jos malo kako biste doterali ukus. Posuti timijanom i opet sve lepo izmesati.
  3. Meso ce brzo biti przeno za nekih 5-10 minuta uz stalno mesanje jer zbog meda moze da zagori. 
  4. Kada je meso mekano, znaci da je gotovo, sklonite sa sporeta i probajte komadic, po porebi posolite jos malo. Ukus treba da je slatkasto-slan, i samo probanjem mozete da postignete balans.
  5. Pripremite prilog. Obarite pirinac u vodi. Povrce sitno naseckajte, zajedno sa jabukom i proprzite na malo ulja. Ne mora da bude skroz mekano (raskuvano) vec po malo krckavo.
  6. Piletinu mozete servirati i uz kuvanu testeninu, ali mi vise volimo kinesku verziju sa pirincem i povrcem.
  7. Servirajte sve lepo na tanjir i uzivjate u divnom ukusu
