Tuna spread sandwich

Of all the fish spreads, I love tuna the most. Makes great sandwiches or wraps for lunch, light dinner or a snack during the day or at work. This is a really quick tuna spread, where you use canned tuna. I recommend the tuna in water, so that you can add your own, healthier oil in the mix instead. You can add veggies of your preference, but I think lettuce and cucumber are the best choices with tuna!

Time you'll need to make this: 10 minutes
Difficulty level: easy

Ingredients (for 2 sandwiches):

-2 whole wheat, flat pita breads
- 1 can of tuna in water
- 2-3 spoons of olive oil
- salt
- pepper
- oregano
- powdered garlic
- 2 big spoons of mayo light
- 3-4 lettuce leaves
- 1 cucumber, sliced
- 1 boiled egg (optional)

How to cook it:
  1. Drain the water from the tuna can, and put the tuna in a mixer. Add olive oil, mayo, salt to taste (I add about half a teaspoon), pepper, a bit of oregano and powdered garlic. If you'd like to use an egg, you can slice it and add it in the mix, or add it later with the veggies.
  2. Mix until a soft spread is achieved. Spread equally on the one side of both pita breads.
  3. Add the lettuce and sliced cucumber on top of the tuna spread, on one of the pita breads, and cover it with the other bread, like a sandwich.
  4. Toast for 2-3 minutes until the bread gets warm and a bit crispy. Slice the pita breads in half, and your two sandwiches are ready!
